Homework - Week of September 21, 2020

Dear Parents,

This week your child will begin working on his/her first set of word wall words.  Each week a new set of word wall words will be posted on the class website and on Hapara for you to use, practice and keep at home.  As a new set is added each week, please print them off or copy them down.  We recommend that you assign a designated box or ziploc bag that you can add to all year.  Some families post the word wall word on a wall or cork board for quick, easy review. We recommend that your child practice their word wall words nightly. These word wall words can be used for flashcard practice, can be used for them to copy, to chant, or to make sentences with. Each week as you review the new ones, don’t forget to go back and review the older ones too!

Many students will choose to print these words in their homework books that were sent home today. Please do not send this notebook back to school.  It is meant to remain at home to be used when working on homework practice. The aim is for students to be able to read the word wall words independently and to spell them correctly from memory or by checking the correct spelling on the class word wall. In addition to practice at home, we will also be using these words in activities all week long at school.

Please let us know if there are any questions!
